The Social Development Institute (SDI), IDF's training wing, was established in 2008 to train energetic young individuals who aspire to use their skills in the social sector. SDI is uniquely positioned to take advantage of IDF personnel's multi-faceted experience, high-level professional expertise, and academic qualifications in the fields of business and social development, including training at some of the world's most renowned academic institutions.
SDI aims to create a cadre of young adults who will work to improve conditions for the most underprivileged in our society and empower the people who are actually in greatest need. As one of the fastest-growing sectors in the modern world, particularly in developing countries such as India, the social development sector today offers an abundance of professional opportunities.
While rapid economic growth and technological advancement together have created a plethora of opportunities for India's technocrats, professionals, and entrepreneurs, these are confined to the country's largest cities and a few rich states. Huge gaps remain between rich and poor, highly educated and illiterate, fortunate and unfortunate, and privileged and underprivileged citizens. Government efforts alone are clearly not sufficient to improve the situation.
You are invited to explore SDI's website and consider becoming a part of this social development and nation-building endeavor. It is an opportunity to give back to the society from which you have gained so much.
