Project Brief :
IDF has been implementing a UNFPA-PLAN supported project aimed at strengthening access of young dalit women and men on their Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through diversifying, integrating and strengthening of system(s) to respond to their rights effectively, rationally and quickly. Project works with community stakeholders, service providers and existing health facilities for increasing awareness and knowledge enhancement on Sexual and Reproduction health rights and also to cater the additional demand of FP commodities and services raised due to increased awareness with the interventions of Community Mobilization, Demand Tracking, System strengthening and convergent actions.

Different information sharing platforms like NareeSamwaad (Sas Bahu Beti Sammelan), Purush Samwaad, Ratri Choupal by the CBO members i.e.,Vikas Mitra, ASHAs, and AWWs at the village level where dalit women along with their family members and adolescent girls are encouraged to discuss, understand, and have information on the issue issues of SRHR. Create a filed level cadre as Yuva Mitra and Beauticians who will directly engage with young eligible couples, especially those belonging to the Dalit community for awareness raising on the SRHR issues and demand creation for family planning services (FP). “We Care App” is an innovative initiative to increase awareness of family planning services in the community, provide services and track on their demand for family planning services. The We Care app provides the facility to register for the services directly or through the project staff, raising the demand for delivery from their end.

Achievements:

Support to Mission Parivar Vikash (family planning fortnight campaign) and facilitated 1549 Female sterilization and 221 Male sterilization. Through Mobilization and awareness activities Demand raised for 21293 FP contraceptives. 2504 dalit women have been counselled on SRHR.
